*Just For You*

“This is my prayer for all of us—'Lord, increase our faith.' Increase our faith to bridge the chasms of uncertainty and doubt. . . . Grant us faith to look beyond the problems of the moment to the miracles of the future. . . . Give us faith to do what is right and let the consequence follow.” -Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley

Our Amazing Prophet

I have been reading some awesome quotes from President Monson and just can't get enough of them..so I thought I would share :D

“I am certain that the Lord, who notes the fall of a sparrow, looks with compassion upon those who have been called upon to part, even temporarily, from their precious children.”

“It is imperative that we recognize that whatever has happened to us has happened to others. They have coped and so must we. We are not alone. Heavenly Father’s help is near.”

“The W Rule: Work will win when wishy washy wishing won't.”

“The past is behind, learn from it. The future is ahead, prepare for it. The present is here, live it.”

“Gracias, danke, merci — whatever language is spoken, 'thank you' frequently expressed will cheer your spirit, broaden your friendships, and lift your lives to a higher pathway as you journey toward perfection. There is a simplicity — even a sincerity — when 'thank you' is spoken.”

“The passage of time has not altered the capacity of the Redeemer to change lives.”

“Our task is to become our best selves. One of God’s greatest gifts to us is the joy of trying again, for no failure ever need be final.”

“Family prayer is the greatest deterrent to sin, and hence the most beneficent provider of joy and happiness. The old saying is yet true: 'The family that prays together stays together.'”

"Remember, the wisdom of God may appear as foolishness to men, but the greatest single lesson we can learn in mortality is that when God speaks and a man obeys, that man will always be right."

"He who gives money, gives much. He who gives time, gives more. He who gives himself, gives all."

...booger...

No baby yet :( I guess they decided that TJ needed to be looked at by this special doctor who won't be in until Monday! Lame....but its ok. He's been on an experimental drug call Meriponen? I think...but it was for his bladder infection. He did really well with it, but just to make the experiment legit this doctor has to check him out and make sure the drug did exactly what they wanted it to. He seems really great and I acutally got to spend Thursday and Friday night with him. And can you believe it....he sleeps completely through the night! HA! Am I lucky or what! And he's on a feeding tube that just runs constantly so all I have to do is fill it once or twice during the night (the food can be in it for only about 6 hours) to make sure the food stays fresh and he's good to go haha. I feel pretty lucky, and am so glad that he is doing great! I am anxious for him to come home. They promised he would be out at 1:00 Monday afternoon, but I guess we'll see! Our little fat bundle of joy is well over 8 lbs and just keeps on packing on the chubby goodness. We're pretty proud of him :D

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Happy Happy Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope all of your Thanksgivings were as eventful as ours! It was definately a memorable one :D
-Woke up at 8 to get ready for the Turkey Tornament...Orem Sizzler won by the way :D It was practically a blow out. It was best out of three and the first game was 3-0 the second 3-1. So it was pretty amazing. We have an engraved trophey and everything! Sorry Provo..theres always next year!
-Enjoyed the football games...and I'll say I make a great cheerleader. Anyone who knows me knows I've got some pipes haha.
-Tim got punched in the face...quite literally...some guy got mad and punched him in the face! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!...I know I about flew out of my seat and ripped the guy apart...but I refrained and just started yelling as loudly as I could from my seat. Aparently this guy from Provo was getting pretty upset at how badly his team was doing. And since we don't want any injuries (ha! yeah right) they just play flag football. Well this guy was getting all fired up and just started laying into people. He ripped completely ripped one of the guys on our teams shirt almost off his body. And they let that slide. And then he practically jumped on the same guy that he had ripped his shirt off. And they let that slide. And then when he was blocking Tim he blind sided him from the back (which is illegal in any type of football) and slammed Tim to the ground. Well Tim got up and shoved this guy off of him and told him to simmer down. The guy full on turns around and decks Tim right in the chin. It was insane. And I literally thought Tim was going to wail on him...like this guy even stood a chance. Tim could have torn him apart if he wanted to. But my amazing husband held his temper and just backed off. Well then some other guys on Tim's team got all fired up that this guy full on punched him and started freakin out. The f*bombs started to fly and thats when we knew it was all over. So we all got up and left. Yeah it was crazy and Tim even has a battle wound from where the guy punched him. FUN!
-My family all came to our house in Spanish Fork and we had an awesome dinner. Turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy..the works! It was perfect :D We hung out had an awesome dinner, all fell asleep (except I think dad and Charlie were watching the big screen)...and then hung out some more. I just love my family and we always have an awesome time together!
-And now Tim and I are headed up to the hospital to spend the night with TJ...literally. We get to sleep at the hospital tonight and tomorrow night to be trained in everything he needs for feeding and everything...and then we get to bring him home!!!!!! YAY!!! We are bringing our baby home on Saturday!!!!! I can't believe it and I am beyond excited! I can't wait :D
Well anyways...it was a pretty exciting day and we were just happy that we could all be together again! Love you all hope your day was great!

*Lazy Sundays*

Oh how grateful I am for the Sundays Tim has off work. For the first time in WEEKS we had nothing to do today. We got to sleep in (thank heavens for 1:00 church :D ) And since Tim has 3 whole days off this week we decided we would just spend today at home laying around watching football and eating junk food lol. We both have all day tomorrow off, and Thursday..super excited about Thanksgiving!!! WOOO HOO! This Thursday is the third annual Turkey Bowl. Basically it consits of a bunch of Tim's friends and family that get together and play a little football. This year is the first annual Sizzler Turkey Bowl. Provo Sizz is talking a lot of smack to the Orem boys lol. Its getting pretty competitive, but I'm pretty confident that my boys will pull out a big V! They have gotten together a few times to "practice" and I was lucky enough to get some video of a few great plays. This year is going to again be a great Turkey Bowl. Hopefully the weather holds up and we don't get dumped on Thanksgiving morning. That would put a damper on things.

We have gotten some great news. The doctors were conerned that TJ was going to need a surgery to place a more permanent feeding tube in his stomach. He's been having a lot of reflux when feeding from a bottle so the tube would help him keep the food in his stomach. If they had decided to do the surgery he would have needed to stay in the hospital for a few more weeks. The GI doctor came and looked at him yesterday. They decided that he wouldn't need the surgery. He thought that TJ just needed a little more time to grow and develop. He will keep the feeding tube he has now which is called an NJ tube. It runs through his nose down past his stomach to his jajunum. This is the first part of his small intestine. This way he is able to still get the nutrition he needs and his body has time to grow a little more. They told us that he just needs to finish his antibiotics he's on and we have to be trained in how to feed him with his feeding tube, then we will be able to take him home!!! YAY...he'll be finished with his antibiotics on Thanksgiving and we need to spend 2 nights at the hospital to make sure we can do everything that he needs and then its home sweet home!!! I can't wait. It could be as soon as next Sunday that we are able to bring him home finally! But we will see. They still want to be very careful and make sure he is ready. But we are so excited that all of this back and forth to and from the hospital will finally be over (pretty much) I'm sure there will still be a lot of hospital trips with this little guy, but for now he will finally get to be with us :D

2 Months!

TJ was two months old on the 15th! Crazy. I can't believe it was all really two months ago and he still is not home :( we went and visited him today and he looked so amazing...he's already 7lbs 13oz. That kid is going to be over 8lbs by the time he comes home! He was so alert and happy while we were there today. He was looking all around and playing with everything he could get his hands on. He eventually fell asleep, but I've never seen him that awake! It was great! All of the nurses are in love with him. We've already had one nurse offer to adopt haha we told her thanks but we kinda like him :D We are getting so anxious because he looks so great we just want him to be home with us. We're trying to be patient but this really stinks.

Visiting Our Cutie Pie

We visited TJ on Tuesday and Wednesday. He is looking so good and weighs 7lbs 1oz! He weighs as much as I did when I was born. Its crazy to see how much he has grown. We found out yesterday that he has an infection, but he's been on anitbiotics for almost 2 days and seems to be doing much better. We love that little guy so much and keep praying for him to be home soon :D

I bought Tim BYU tickets for our 1 YEAR anniversary! It was so great and BYU won so thats always a plus. It was a perfect fall day and we were thrilled just to have a Saturday off work to spend together.

ONE FUN WEEK

This week has been quite an eventful one. My amazing sister Lacy came out and stayed for a week to see TJ and hang out with the fam. She flew home to New York City a week ago today! It is just crazy how fast the time flew by. I wish I could have seen more of her and little Lukie, but there will be a next time (when I go to NYC!) it was still great to hang out. We laughed, we cried (well Luke did at least)...all in all it was a great ol time here in Utah!

TJ had his surgery but all went well. He is such a little angel and I love him so very very much. Right now the only thing keeping him at the hospital is his feedings. He is completely off oxygen and his shunt is working perfectly. We are still hoping for him to be home in time for Thanksgiving, but no for sure dates yet. Mom, Dad, Delila, and I went up to visit the little guy last night.
We had a great time and he is just way way too cute for his own good! I can't believe how stinkin cute he is! It amazes me to see how much he has grown and the little changes that are occurring. BTW that orange stuff on his head is antibacterial stuff that they keep on for 3 to 4 days after a surgery. And the goose egg on the left side is where his shunt is :D

I got really ambitious this week and decided that I was going to paint TJ's room and get it ready for when he comes home. Right now it is still just a guest room, but once we have his crib and changing table it will offically be TJ's room. I was planning on just painting one wall, but my creativity got the best of me! I have been so super anxious to start painting MY house. That is why you get a house isn't it? So you can start painting and decorating it! I was really suprised with how well it turned out considering is was my first offical "on my own" painting job (Delila did help a little).

Updates :D

TJ had another pretty major surgery today. The doctors decided the best thing to do for the swelling was to just put a shunt in. They had been drawing the fluid off of his brain everyday and rather than keep introducing the chance for infection every day they decided to just place a shunt that ran from his head, behind his ear, down his neck and chest, and into his peritoneal cavity ( a space around his stomach..not inside of it). The tube all runs under his skin. Its hard to comprehend, but you really can't even see it and never would know it was even there. This tube is attached to a pressure valve in his brain that will release the fluid when the pressure gets to high. Then the valve shuts off and stops the flow. Its not something that constantly needs to be draining into his cavity. And also it is not something that he will have to have for the rest of his life. It is a long term treatment, but not necessarily permanent. His body still has to ability to absorb the clot and the fluid will be able to flow on its own. I have heard of kids who had it until they were 2 others until they were 5 and another who was 20 and still had one. It all just depends on what his body does.
He looked really good after the surgery. Now we just need to wait for him to get off the oxygen (he was completely off before the surgery) and to get back on his regular feeding schedual. After he does that we get to bring him home! YAY. Hopefully by Thanksgiving. We are keeping our fingers crossed that everything will go great and he can finally be home with us. He is currently 6lbs 8 1/2oz. He just keeps on gowing! :D
