*Just For You*

“This is my prayer for all of us—'Lord, increase our faith.' Increase our faith to bridge the chasms of uncertainty and doubt. . . . Grant us faith to look beyond the problems of the moment to the miracles of the future. . . . Give us faith to do what is right and let the consequence follow.” -Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley

Update:

Time to dust off the old blog. It has been 5 years since I have updated and I feel like so much has been lost. Many significant things have happened, but the reality is that so many small memories have been forgotten. My goal for 2017 is to keep a journal and I would like to use my blog for that purpose. I want to remember things. I know I will never remember everything that has passed but I will touch on some significant experiences for each year. So here it goes!

Two-Thousand and Eleven

Welcome to the world * Emery Michael Ranagan

Emery was born July 29th 2011. 5lbs 11 oz and 18 in long! I started to experience severe pre-eclampsia. After a week of bed rest and a night spent at Timpanogos Hospital in Orem my doctor decided delivery would be the best option. I was 35 weeks {5 more than I made it with TJ...yay} and he was looking very healthy. They wanted to avoid me developing HELLP syndrome again. I am grateful that there are professionals who know the best route to take when we are faced with these crazy medical desicions. I was scared to deliver another baby early but had faith that things would work out in the manner my Heavenly Father had designed for me and my family. Emery was born healthy and strong. He remained in the hospital for about ten days and then we were able to bring him home. We've been loving on him ever since!

A few months before Emery was born we moved from a small apartment in Pleasant Grove to Tim's parents basement in Orem. Tim had been working full-time at Sprint and going to school at UVU full-time. We decided the move would allow him to work less and focus more on school. We were so happy while we lived there. We spent many nights gaming with Allan and his friends. There were many lunches at La Puente {chili verde smothered burrito, no beans, with cheese-onions-and sour cream} with sweet momma Lisa. She and I played Sequence and Flinch almost nightly. Those are cherished memories that I will never forget.

TJ turned THREE!!!!

In October Delila, Misty, Suzanne, and I met up in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Misty and Suzanne drove from Missouri. We stayed for two nights and vowed we would do it again. We have not been able to do it yet but I know we will make it happen. I love these people. We ate good food, went on hikes, took lots and lots of pictures, laughed, talked, and stayed up way too late.

Tim and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary on October 26th. We had spent our previous anniversary at Wolf Creek in Eden, Utah and loved it so much we went again {and have nearly every anniversary since}. Emery was still so little so we packed the boys up and took them with us. Eden is our favorite little getaway. Its small and quiet. Rustic and mountainous. There is beautiful Huntington Lake and countless trails for hiking. For whatever reason we didn't bring our pack-n-play for Emery and decided to put him in the dresser drawer {we kept it open, COME ON GUYS}.

CHRISTMAS
Temple Square. One of our favorite traditions.

2011 ended up being a wonderful year. We were able to spend so much time with Tim's family. We learned a lot about how small of a living space we could manage. We capped off our family of 4 with a rascally little boy. We were able to travel and spend much cherished time together as a family. Tim began his long, grueling, full-time college journey to inevitably {4 years later} achieve his Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. All in all, we grew closer and loved each other more by the end of the year.

We were excited to welcome 2012....
